My Christian Testimony
By Terry L. Young, Sr.

What does Jesus mean to me? .. To put in the shortest way, LIFE is what Jesus means to me. .. He is my heartbeat, my breath, my reason to face life in or on any ground.

After being lost for 40 years, a recovering alcoholic and cocaine addict, I still had many issues to deal with . .. My wife was seeking divorce; the only relationship I had with my children was to yell and curse at them; and to be quite honest, not many people liked me, and I didn't even like myself.

One day a young couple invited my children to church, came and picked them up, and brought them home so excited they would not be content until they told me all they had done that night at a revival. .. The next morning I got them ready for church and cleaned up the dishes from breakfast; and an overpowering urge came over me to the point of panic that I would not be able to get dressed in time to get to the church. .. When I got to the church the sense of peace was so awesome that I knew then that is where I wanted and needed to be.

Since that day my wife, myself and our 4 children have been baptised in Jesus name, and continue to grow together in Christ. .. We now have my sisters, mother-in-law, neices, sister-in-law (who was delivered from a meth addiction), several cousins, and other freinds who go there. .. So now you know why Jesus is my heartbeat and breath everyday.

If by chance you find yourself in or near the little town of Flora, Illinois on a Sunday morning or evening, please know you will be more than welcome at the First Apostolic Church in Flora. .. May God richly bless you in all that you do.
